Quick Episode 54 Update

This week is Halloween. So there’s no interview, but I do have a special treat for you. TWO spooky UX stories await you this week. Next week we have another awesome interview with the one and only Tom Greever.

Have a listen… If you dare!

It’s October 30th. Tomorrow is Halloween here in the States. If you’re lucky tomorrow is Halloween wherever you live too.

So instead of the normal interview, I’ve got not one but TWO spooky UX stories for you this week.

First is a truly terrifying tale of deceptive UX patterns. It’s the story of a Boomer who falls for some evil UX witches’ dirty tricks. It’s a cautionary tale, really.

Next up is a frightening tale of a talented UX designer Ethan who becomes so obsessed with designing the perfect interface that he literally loses himself in his work. Two brave interns, played by Sera Tajima from the Craft and Colton Schweitzer from Kickass UX, venture into the woods to investigate the mystery.

This one has some special guest appearances by Amy Santee from What is Wrong with Hiring podcast, Hang Xu from LinkedIn fame.

Special shout out to my partner in crime, Derek Seibert from my other show, Retro Time Podcast, for helping make these silly things a reality.

But next week, oh boy, next week is going to be an amazing show. I am super stoked to have the one and only Tom Greever on. Tom, of course, is the author of one of my favorite UX books, Articulating Design Decisions. We’re going to be discussing what happens when UX designers become too rigid and inflexible, and how you can still balance holding true to your principles while still being seen as a team player.

So I hope you all have a nice and spooky Halloween. I hope you don’t eat too much candy.

I’ll see you again next week. Take care y’all.
