Are you a recent design grad? Did you just finish a boot camp? Are you a career transitioner? Maybe you’re self-taught. Either way, you’re probably looking to break into the UX field.
If you’re new to the UX field, and you came here looking for tips on visual design, layout tips, tips on micro-interactions, Figma tips, or tips on whatever the tool du jour is, you won’t find those here, but stick around because I think you’ll learn something anyway. All those things are definitely important, but there are tons of other great designers out there that can teach you about all that stuff, so I won’t be talking about those things here.
What you will learn from Beyond UX Design are the things they won’t be teaching you in school or your boot camp. What you’ll learn from Beyond UX Design are those unspoken things. Things like how to craft a killer resume or portfolio, interview tips, tips on how to master whiteboard design challenges, but especially all the important soft skills no one tells you about before you get your first job, like how to build relationships with your team, how to work with difficult product teams or difficult engineers… Really, how to be a UX designer that your team actually enjoys working with.
